The Committee initially avoided penalties following Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine, but the IOC has been firm on its stamp that no Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials should take place in the event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Russian Olympic Committee is suspended with immediate effect until further notice.&#8221; a statement from IOC read.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The IOC reserves the right to decide about the participation of individual neutral athletes with a Russian passport in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 at the appropriate time.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Russian Olympic Committee has been excluded from the 2024 Paris Olympics, it was announced on Wednesday.
