FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his condolences to the families of the two victims of the terrorist attack in Brussels on Monday night. Minutes before the kick-off in the Euro 2024 qualifying match between Belgium and Sweden two Swedish fans were shot dead.<\/p>\n
The match at the “King Baudouin” stadium was suspended at the break with a score of 1-1. “I am shocked and saddened by the tragic death of two Swedish nationals in Brussels. On behalf of FIFA and the world football family, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victims. Our thoughts are with the people of Belgium and Sweden, their national teams and football federations,” Infantino said in a statement.<\/p>\n
