Lionel Messi has stated his intention of playing for Inter Miami’s final game of the MLS season on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old once again shone for his country, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Peru, but was left out of the squad for Wednesday game against Charlotte.<\/p>\n
In the aftermath, Messi said he will play on Saturday, despite no confirmation from the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll play the game that is left now,\u201d said Messi.<\/p>\n
Head-coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino hinted that Messi might be available for Saturday’s game, depending on his fitness improvement.<\/p>\n
“Tomorrow we\u2019ll talk with him, but the most important thing here is the 90 minutes that were played … that he felt well, and he was confident and not worried about his injury,\u201d Martino said. \u201cWe\u2019ll talk again to see if he\u2019s ready to play again.”<\/p>\n
Inter Miami has already been eliminated from MLS playoff earlier this month, but Charlotte still have solid chances and potential Messi return will severely hamper their aspirations.<\/p>\n
