Sandro Tonali’s lawyers will be flying to Rome on Monday in order to negotiate plea bargain after the player openly admitted to gambling on football matches, reports say.<\/p>\n

Tonali is one of three Italian players to have been investigated with Nicolo Zaniolo and Nicolo Fagioli already receiving a 7-month ban.<\/p>\n

It is likely Tonali will quickly follow suit with reports suggesting he will be banned for up to a year.<\/p>\n

In order to prevent such lengthy suspension the midfielder’s lawyers have changed the strategy and will ask for a plea bargain. Their main defense will be that Tonali openly admitted and collaborated with the Italian authorities.<\/p>\n

Fagioli’s ban was significantly reduced after his public amdission and Tonali’s lawyers believe they can earn the same outcome for the Newcastle man.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
