{"id":467289,"date":"2023-10-26T07:38:24","date_gmt":"2023-10-26T11:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=467289"},"modified":"2023-10-26T06:34:02","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T10:34:02","slug":"swiss-prosecutors-end-proceedings-against-fifa-president-infantino","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/swiss-prosecutors-end-proceedings-against-fifa-president-infantino\/","title":{"rendered":"Swiss prosecutors end proceedings against FIFA president Infantino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Special Swiss prosecutors have closed criminal proceedings against FIFA President Gianni Infantino relating to undisclosed meetings with the country\u2019s former attorney general.<\/p>\n<p>Infantino had meetings with Michael Lauber in 2016, soon after being elected FIFA president, during a sweeping investigation of international soccer in Switzerland and by the U.S Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>After the decision for the proceedings to be dropped, FIFA said it took note \u201cwith extreme satisfaction\u201d of the decision of the prosecutors. \u201cThe outcome of this investigation is obviously entirely unsurprising.
