Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Chelsea do not have a designated penalty taker and decision is being made on the pitch.<\/p>\n
The Blues were rewarded a penalty last time around against Arsenal and an on-field incident occurred between Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling. The two seemed to be arguing for who should take it.<\/p>\n
In the end Enzo Fernandez stepped it, seemingly suggesting Palmer should be the one with the responsibility and so it happened.<\/p>\n
“There are a few players, who can take the penalty. It’s about their feelings. As a coaching staff we give them the responsibility to decide on the pitch” Pochettino said.<\/p>\n
“It’s not only one player, that this player is going to be in charge. It shows that Cole was ready to take the two penalties he took.”<\/p>\n
“For me the most important thing is to have the decision and the personality to go.”<\/p>\n
Palmer did convert the penalty, which gave the Blues a 2-0 lead, but unfortunately for them, they let it slip and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
