Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc got a surprise pole position in the qualifying ahead of the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
He was fastest on the track with a time of 1.17.166 minutes and will start for the fourth time this season from the first position in the grid.<\/p>\n
“To be honest, I didn’t expect to finish first in qualifying today. During the third practice I didn’t feel comfortable with the car on the track at all. But she seemed to be an exception because I think the rest of the time in Mexico we found the speed, which we need. But I’m not sure if all that will be enough to win in Mexico,” said Leclerc after qualifying.<\/p>\n
Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz will start alongside him from P2 and their main task will be to keep Max Verstappen behind them as he will start from third place on Sunday.<\/p>\n
