David Moyes has sent message to the West Ham fans to greet former player Declan Rice warmly during their Thursday League Cup clash with Arsenal.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old swapped teams in the summer in a record-breaking deal, worth \u00a3105m, and will now face his former club for the first time since the switch.<\/p>\n
Rice made 245 appearances for the Hammers, leading them to a historic Europa Conference League trophy, the team’s first silverware in 43 years.<\/p>\n
“You’ve got to remember this is the man who lifted this club’s first European trophy in more than 50 years,”\u00a0 Moyes said.<\/p>\n
“He should be welcomed back with open arms. We’re all looking forward to seeing him again.”<\/p>\n
“He was a brilliant member of the team. He led the team brilliantly well. He conducted himself impeccably as a West Ham captain and as a player.”<\/p>\n
