Before that the Oilers succumbed to 4 consecutive defeats, including a shocking 3-2 loss to San Jose Sharks.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically Woodcroft stated back then that he is feeling safe about his job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one\u2019s happy with where we\u2019re at,\u201d he said. \u201cWe all own it. We can be better, and that\u2019s where my focus is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edmonton was considered a contender for the Stanley Cup, but poor performances, which has seen the team sit next to bottom of the table, has all but ended those ambitions.
