David Seaman has shared his opinion on the David Raya – Aaron Ramsdale saga, by stating the latter is “too good to be a number two”.<\/p>\n
Ramsdale has fallen down the pecking order since Raya’s loan move from Brentford in the summer and has, more or less, become second choice in Mikel Arteta’s squad.<\/p>\n
That has affected the Englishman’s national career as well, as he remained an unused substitution in England’s latest Euro 2024 qualifying match against North Macedonia.<\/p>\n
“If he’s not playing [for Arsenal], it’s going to affect his [England] chances,” Seaman said.<\/p>\n
“Going into next summer, where Aaron is really pushing to become England goalkeeper – he needs to be playing.”<\/p>\n
England’s manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that he cannot promise Ramsdale a No.1 spot for the upcoming Euros in 2024 if he remains benched.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
