His resignation was expedited to avoid clashing with the presidential elections for the RFEF, which will happen at the beginning of next year.<\/p>\n<p>Javier shared on social media that he resigned from his post as La Liga chief a month earlier, so the new elections are to be held as he will be a candidate and try to win the presidential position for a 4<sup>th<\/sup> time.
