Lewis Hamilton’s agents were in contact with the Red Bull and Ferrari before the seven-time Formula One world champion signed his new contract with Mercedes, according to Christian Horner.<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old British driver signed a new two-year contract with Mercedes in August, extending his stay in Formula 1 after turning 40. It came during a difficult season for Mercedes, in which Max Verstappen easily won his third title in the dominant Red Bull car.<\/p>\n
“We had several conversations years ago about Lewis joining,” Red Bull boss Horner told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n
“The last one was earlier this year,” he added. “He met John Elkann (Ferrari president) as well. I think they were serious talks. But I don’t see Max and Lewis working together.
