Max Verstappen stated that he would feel no pressure if he is paired with Lewis Hamilton as the reigning world champion, according to his own words, ‘has nothing to prove’.<\/p>\n
The Dutchman stance comes in response to Christian Horner comments that Red Bull were in touch with Hamilton for a potential swap for next season. Hamilton denied the rumors, labeling Horner ‘lonely stirer’, but that has led to speculations about the possibility of a mega, potentially explosive partnership.<\/p>\n
“But what do I need to prove? I’ve got nothing to prove, I think. There will always be excuses if one driver is faster than the other. Like “Yeah, but he’s too old now” and that kind of stuff. They [fans] always come up with something.”” Verstappen said.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old, however, did state that he wouldn’t mind working with Hamilton.<\/p>\n
“I wouldn’t mind, it doesn’t matter. Anyone. I don’t want to put it like now particularly on Lewis. There are so many great drivers as well. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out like that.” he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
