Fernando Alonso heaped praise on his team Aston Martin after clinching P4 in the Drivers’ Standings in the last race of the season.<\/p>\n
Alonso labelled 2023 as his best season since 2012, which saw him clinch that many points (206) for the first time since 2013.<\/p>\n
Not many would have envisaged such a turnaround this time last year, when the experienced Spaniard announced his surprise move from Alpine.<\/p>\n
“If you\u2019d told me before this weekend that I\u2019d finish fourth in the Drivers\u2019 Championship, I wouldn\u2019t have believed you \u2013 so this is a real gift,” Alonso said. “I\u2019m really pleased with the way I\u2019ve driven all season \u2013 I think this has been my best, most consistent season of driving since 2012. I think I got the maximum from the car all season.”<\/p>\n
“The whole Aston Martin team has worked incredibly hard, and I am already looking forward to going into the winter and starting work for next season. We started this year as an underdog, but we\u2019ll start 2024 very much in the spotlight; we need to be ready for that.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
