McLaren CEO Zac Brown expressed his delight about Andrea Stella’s first year as Team Principal at the helm of the Woking team.<\/p>\n
Stella stepped in Andrea Seidl shoes after the latter moved to Sauber and undergone severe changes to the technical department.<\/p>\n
At first, it looked a complete disaster as McLaren failed to score a single point in the opening 2 races as the team struggled at the bottom half of the grid.<\/p>\n
But severe mid-season upgrades skyrocketed the team to podiums and even placed them in race win contention(Oscar Piastri clinching the Sprint in Qatar). As a result the Woking-based team finished on a high and claimed P4 in the Constructors, pipping Aston Martin towards the end.<\/p>\n
“He\u2019s a great communicator, he empowers the team, he listens, he gives great direction \u2013 I can\u2019t say enough great things about him.” Brown said.<\/p>\n
“The proof is in the pudding. Look at what he inherited at the start of the year, which was kind of the ninth-quickest car.”<\/p>\n
