Daniel Ricciardo was full of optimism when evaluating his chances of snatching a win again in F1.<\/p>\n
The Aussie enjoyed a roller coaster ride in 2023, having impressed at Silverstone test with Red Bull in July, which secured him a return to Alpha Tauri in Nick de Vries’ place, to sitting on the sidelines again with broken metacarpal after an unfortunate incident in Free practice in Zandvoort.<\/p>\n
However, a return to form towards the end of the season, especially in Austin and Mexico saw Ricciardo end the year tied with Alfa Romeo\u2019s Zhou Guanyu on six championship points.<\/p>\n
“A weekend like Mexico, that’s a weekend where I felt everything I needed to feel again,” said Ricciardo. “Obviously the team was very happy, everyone was happy, and those things help kind of everything moving forward.”<\/p>\n
“But as much as I want to win again, it’s really because I believe I can. But I’m not going to dictate this second phase of my career just on that; dictate my happiness, dictate how I classify success in this second phase. To win again would be a bonus [but] I feel like I’m not carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, and it’s kind of nice.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
