UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has expressed no concern over the investments made by teams from Saudi Arabia. He believes it is a financial loss that will not sustain for long.<\/p>\n
“Threat to European football? I’m not worried. I don’t think you can buy football. I saw a study on how many fans follow the clubs and leagues. In Spain, 98% don’t know which team Benzema transferred to,” shared Ceferin to The Guardian.<\/p>\n
“The approach is not good, and we see that some players already want to come back. In England, Newcastle is a good example of Saudi clubs. They didn’t buy big stars, but they managed to qualify for the Champions League. I was surprised. I thought they would buy many players,” he added.<\/p>\n
