The goalkeeper participated in the African Cup of Nations as part of the Cameroon national team. The Lions were eliminated in the round of 16, losing 0-2 to Nigeria.<\/p>\n
“Andre will return to us on Thursday. Perhaps now, finally, I will be able to choose a lineup from our strongest players,” said Ten Hag to the club’s website.<\/p>\n
In the Africa Cup, Onana played in only one match against Senegal (1-3) in the group stage of the tournament. He missed the first game of his team against Guinea, finished 1-1 and was benched for the next two matches against Gambia and Nigeria.<\/p>\n
