Ruff replaces Don Granato, whom Buffalo dismissed after 3 campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Ruff manager the franchise for 15 years from 1997 to 2013. He ranks 5<sup>th<\/sup> all-time and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> among active managers with 864 career regular-campaign victories for Buffalo, Dallas and New Jersey. His 935 combined victories in the regular-campaign and postseason are evened for 4<sup>th<\/sup> in NHL history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As I went through the appointing process, I realized swiftly that Lindy was the person to lead the team.
