It was a salary cap dump Tampa Bay had to make during the offseason in 2022 despite how crucial McDonagh had been on their back end through Stanley Cup championship runs in 2020 and 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan was originally traded to the Lightning by the Rangers in 2018 as part of a huge trade that featured J.T. Miller.
