Early in the second half, Toni Kroos fired a stunning free-kick, which Gregor Kobel saved. Madrid&#8217;s pressure paid off a quarter of an hour before the end of regular time when Carvajal headed in a cross from Kroos. The goal boosted &#8220;Los Merengues,&#8221; who then besieged Dortmund&#8217;s penalty area.
