As the Dallas Mavericks<\/a><\/a><\/a> were given up, substituting for all of their starters while being behind 21 points with less than 3 minutes until the end, Kyrie Irving<\/a><\/a><\/a> walked to his former teammates at the Celtics to congratulate them for the title.<\/p>\n

Kyrie returned to the Mavs bench and had a short talk with Luka Doncic<\/a><\/a><\/a> as the Slovenian appeared for the 1st<\/sup> time in his career at the NBA Finals.<\/p>\n

“We said, ‘We’ll fight together in the upcoming campaign, and that we will do our best again,'” Luka claimed after the Mavs\u2019 106-88 defeat to Boston, who clinched their record-breaking 18th NBA title.<\/p>\n

Kyrie labeled it as a “bitter” ending to a “really positive journey” for Dallas, who upgraded the role players in the past offseason, and that led them from a lottery finish to triumph at the West Conference.<\/p>\n

The belief within the team is that the Mavericks could be a contender in the upcoming seasons with the right trades.<\/p>\n
