Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson&#8217;s death following an overnight car accident,&#8221; the Vikings said in a statement. &#8220;Our thoughts are with Khyree&#8217;s family, friends, teammates, and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson\u2019s death following an overnight car accident.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts are with Khyree\u2019s family, friends, teammates and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc94\ud83d\udc94\ud83d\udc94 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pkgC4kQtWi\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/pkgC4kQtWi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Vikings\/status\/1809616466117030196?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 6, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The preliminary police investigation indicated that Hazel was driving, with Jackson in the front seat and Lytton in the back of a Dodge Charger when they were struck by an Infiniti Q50 attempting to change lanes at high speed.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson, a cornerback, played college football at Alabama and Oregon before being selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Jackson, Hazel, and Lytton played high school football together in Maryland before moving on to college careers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am absolutely crushed by this news,&#8221; Vikings head coach Kevin O&#8217;Connell said. &#8220;Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team.
