{"id":485347,"date":"2024-07-17T08:05:04","date_gmt":"2024-07-17T12:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=485347"},"modified":"2024-07-17T08:05:04","modified_gmt":"2024-07-17T12:05:04","slug":"chelsea-condemn-enzos-alleged-racist-chant","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/chelsea-condemn-enzos-alleged-racist-chant\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea condemn Enzo\u2019s alleged racist chant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea have condemned all racist behavior and have instigated an internal disciplinary procedure after Argentina&#8217;s derogatory song about French footballers, the West London side announced.<\/p>\n<p>The French Football Federation (FFF) shared yesterday that it would file a legal complaint over &#8220;racist and discriminatory remarks&#8221; made by the Blues footballer Enzo Fern\u00e1ndez and his teammates from the national team about France&#8217;s squad after the past weekend\u2019s Copa Am\u00e9rica win against Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our team finds all forms of discriminatory behavior completely unacceptable,&#8221; Chelsea published today.<\/p>\n<p>After Argentina&#8217;s 1-0 victory against Colombia in the match for the title in Miami, Enzo posted a video on social media where Argentina footballers were singing offensive chants that singled out France footballers of African heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The same chants &#8211; by some Argentina supporters \u2013 were heard before France and Argentina face at the World Cup final in Qatar, which Fern\u00e1ndez and his teammates won.<\/p>\n<p>Enzo apologized on social media about the video and claimed that he didn\u2019t intend to discriminate anyone.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8\ud83d\udea8| Chelsea release official statement on Enzo Fern\u00e1ndez\u2019s racist chants: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cChelsea Football Club finds all forms of discriminatory behaviour completely unacceptable.
