In addition to Westbrook, the Clippers are sending a second-round pick swap and cash to Utah. The news of the deal was reported by ESPN&#8217;s Adrian Wojnarowski.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Once Russell Westbrook clears waivers, the expectation is that\u2019ll join the <a href=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/nba\/team\/denver-nuggets\/\"><a href=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/nba\/team\/denver-nuggets\/\"><a href=\"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/nba\/team\/denver-nuggets\/\">Denver Nuggets<\/a><\/a><\/a> as a free agent and bring them another veteran to bolster the team\u2019s bench and be available as a spot-starter. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hgFNi4rVWz\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/hgFNi4rVWz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wojespn\/status\/1814005573006074044?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 18, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Wojnarowski also reported that Westbrook and the Jazz are expected to agree on a contract buyout, which would clear the path for Westbrook to join the Denver Nuggets after he clears waivers.<\/p>\n<p>The Clippers have been actively seeking to trade Westbrook ever since he opted into his $4 million player option this offseason. Although there were rumors of a potential trade to the Nuggets, a direct deal could not be finalized between the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the Clippers will part with a second-round pick swap and cash to offload Westbrook&#8217;s salary to Utah. The Jazz are expected to waive Westbrook, enabling him to join Denver.
