He had been linked with Arsenal in 2023 and attracted interest from several top clubs this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Villa manager Unai Emery targeted a new defensive midfielder after selling Douglas Luiz to Juventus for \u00a342.35 million in June. Villa, who finished fourth in the Premier League last season, are strengthening their squad for their first Champions League campaign since the 1982-83 season, the year after they won the European Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Onana&#8217;s signing brings Villa&#8217;s summer spending to approximately \u00a3140 million.
