Binotto, who left his position as Ferrari team principal at the end of the 2022 season, will start his new role at Sauber Motorsport on August 1.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83d\udea8 BINOTTO BACK!<\/p>\n<p>The former Ferrari <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/F1?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#F1<\/a> boss is joining the Audi project, becoming the chief operating and chief technical officer at Sauber from August 1, as part of a massive reshuffling.<\/p>\n<p>Andreas Seidl AND Oliver Hoffmann are departing the programme. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mOtQ0qmxXG\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/mOtQ0qmxXG<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Race (@wearetherace) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wearetherace\/status\/1815726336188567877?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July 23, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This move is part of Audi&#8217;s preparations for its works F1 debut in 2026. As a result of the restructuring, Chief Representative Oliver Hoffmann and Sauber Motorsport CEO Andreas Seidl are stepping down from their positions. Seidl, who had served as McLaren team principal, joined the Audi project at the end of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Audi, having completed the takeover of all shares in Sauber Motorsport, is refreshing its F1 leadership. Binotto will be responsible for the operational management and sporting success of the racing team, reporting to the board of directors for Sauber Motorsport AG.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the team has signed Nico Hulkenberg for the 2025 season.
