{"id":485579,"date":"2024-07-24T06:48:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-24T10:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=485579"},"modified":"2024-07-24T06:48:08","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T10:48:08","slug":"chelsea-head-coach-defends-fernandez-amid-racist-chant","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/chelsea-head-coach-defends-fernandez-amid-racist-chant\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea head coach defends Fernandez amid racist chant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has shared that Enzo Fern\u00e1ndez had &#8220;no bad intentions&#8221; behind his offensive chanting about French footballers and claimed team spirit has not been damaged with the Blues.<\/p>\n<p>Enzo celebrated Argentina&#8217;s Copa Am\u00e9rica triumph by sharing a video of him and his teammates singing a racist and homophobic song about the heritage of some French footballers.<\/p>\n<p>The Chelsea midfielder (23) is at the moment on holiday and has since apologised while the team from the Stamford Bridge have begun an internal disciplinary procedure and announced that they appreciate Fernandez\u2019s apology.<\/p>\n<p>The Blues are in the USA getting ready for the 1<sup>st<\/sup> game of their 5-match tour vs. Wrexham in California today and speaking ahead of the clash, the Chelsea boss shared about Enzo\u2019s problem.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t believe there are any bad intentions behind the episode, so starting from that point, in my opinion, it\u2019s not a big problem.
