Fernandes, who was sent off in the 42nd minute for a foul on Spurs midfielder James Maddison, would have faced a three-match suspension for serious foul play. However, the appeal overturned the decision, allowing Fernandes to remain available for United’s upcoming Premier League fixtures against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham.

The incident, which occurred at Old Trafford, saw Fernandes slip and make contact with Maddison, catching him on the shin. After the match, Fernandes insisted it was not a red card offense, explaining that the contact was with his ankle, not his studs, and that while it was a foul, it did not warrant more than a yellow card.

United’s next match is a Europa League clash with Porto on Thursday before they return to Premier League action against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has successfully avoided a ban after the club appealed against his red card from Sunday’s 3-0 loss to […]

[18039,16789
136,14235,16715
17559,11753
