Arsenal secured their first victory in the new Champions League format with a 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates Stadium. After opening the competition with a draw against Atalanta, Mikel Arteta’s side took control of this match in the first half, thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka.<\/p>\n
Havertz opened the scoring in the 20th minute, heading home Leandro Trossard’s cross, beating PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Saka then doubled the lead with a free-kick that drifted past Donnarumma, who was unsighted due to the crowded penalty area.<\/p>\n
PSG had their chances, particularly when Nuno Mendes and Joao Neves both hit the woodwork either side of halftime. Despite mounting pressure in the second half, PSG couldn’t break through, and Arsenal held firm.<\/p>\n
