Manchester United’s co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has distanced himself from making any decisions regarding the future of under-pressure manager Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe, who assumed control of the club’s football operations in February, saw United trigger a one-year extension in Ten Hag’s contract in July. However, the team\u2019s poor start to the season has led to increased scrutiny of the Dutchman\u2019s position.<\/p>\n
When asked about his confidence in Ten Hag, Ratcliffe told BBC Sport, \u201cI don\u2019t want to answer that question,\u201d emphasizing that such decisions fall to the leadership team he has installed at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
Ratcliffe’s remarks followed a dramatic 3-3 Europa League draw with Porto, in which United squandered a two-goal lead and had captain Bruno Fernandes sent off.<\/p>\n
“The United hierarchy needs to take stock and make some sensible decisions,” Ratcliffe said, hinting at possible changes but refusing to directly comment on Ten Hag\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
