While McLaren has not disclosed the exact length of the deal, it is expected to keep the Australian at the team until at least 2028.<\/p>\n<p>The contract extension comes just days before the 2025 Formula 1 season kicks off in Melbourne, reinforcing McLaren\u2019s commitment to Piastri as a key part of its future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great feeling knowing that I\u2019m part of McLaren\u2019s long-term vision,\u201d said the 23-year-old. \u201cThe team had the belief in me when we signed in 2022, and the journey we\u2019ve gone on over the past two seasons to help return McLaren to the very top of the sport has been incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Piastri, a former F2 and F3 champion, impressed immediately after making his F1 debut in 2023.
