{"id":495184,"date":"2025-08-14T14:52:24","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T18:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=495184"},"modified":"2025-08-14T14:53:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-14T18:53:35","slug":"mclaren-to-auction-2026-f1-car-during-abu-dhabi-gp-weekend","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/mclaren-to-auction-2026-f1-car-during-abu-dhabi-gp-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"McLaren to auction 2026 F1 car during Abu Dhabi GP weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>McLaren will give motorsport enthusiasts a rare chance to own future competition cars, announcing that three upcoming racing machines will be auctioned during the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The move is tied to McLaren\u2019s renewed pursuit of motorsport\u2019s fabled Triple Crown \u2014 victories at the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n<p>The Woking squad remains the only team to have achieved the feat, claiming Monaco glory in 1984 with Alain Prost, winning the Indy 500 in 1976 with Johnny Rutherford, and conquering Le Mans in 1995 with JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya.<\/p>\n<p>Up for auction will be one of Lando Norris\u2019s or Oscar Piastri\u2019s 2026 F1 cars, the team\u2019s 2026 Indy 500 challenger, and the final available chassis from McLaren\u2019s six-car 2027 World Endurance Championship program.
