The 38-year-old extended his flawless second-round record in New York, advancing to the third round for the 19th time after a 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 victory over American qualifier Zachary Svajda.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic struggled at the start against Learner Tien in his first game of the tournament and versus Svajda, he again couldn&#8217;t find his rhythm with footwork, committing 14 unforced errors in a scrappy first set before falling behind 1-3 in the third.<\/p>\n<p>But the former world No. 1 raised his intensity at key moments. Svajda, hampered by a leg issue, saw his serve speed drop below 90 mph, allowing Djokovic to seize control and dominate the closing stages.<\/p>\n<p>With the victory, Djokovic reached the third round of a major for a record 75th time, surpassing Roger Federer\u2019s previous benchmark of 74.
