The Swedish striker used social media to thank the fans of the Magpies after his record transfer in British history for 125 million pounds to Anfield.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to express my gratitude to the players that I have played with, to the staff, and most importantly, to the city of Newcastle and the phenomenal fans for the 3 years that we spent together. In the past 3 seasons, we have written history and taken the Magpies to where they belong. I will always be grateful to have been part of the squad that secured a spot in the Champions League and also triumphed with 1<sup>st<\/sup> trophy in over 70 years. I will never forget that.
