In Baku, a wheel nut issue on the front-right again slowed Norris, with Stella estimating the delay may have cost as many as two places and up to four championship points.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83d\udea8 | McLaren are working to improve their pit-stops, says Andrea Stella:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both in terms of execution of pit-stops, but also in terms of the hardware&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are still some interactions between the operator and hardware that need to be improved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Motorsport_IT?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@Motorsport_IT<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 formularacers (@formularacers_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/formularacers_\/status\/1970419251119866283?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September 23, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely in terms of pit stops, that\u2019s an area in which we have already concentrated our efforts,\u201d Stella admitted. \u201cWe need to keep working because there\u2019s important performance available through pit stops. Racing is getting tighter and tighter, so the impact of a pit stop now is more important than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Italian explained that the team is targeting improvements both in execution and in equipment design. \u201cFor the remainder of the season and also looking ahead to next year\u2019s car, there\u2019s work to do \u2014 both in terms of how we execute pit stops and in ensuring the hardware makes the process more straightforward for our crew,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are still interactions between the operator and the hardware that should be improved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stella clarified that the Monza and Baku mishaps were unrelated, but admitted they highlight a wider weakness. \u201cThis one [in Baku] was definitely more to do with the interaction between the operator and the gunning,\u201d he noted. \u201cFrom a hardware point of view, we are not optimising. This isn\u2019t because we didn\u2019t want to, but because you learn on the way.
