Despite the best efforts to save him, Hamilton made the heartbreaking decision on Sunday night, September 28, to put his loyal pet to sleep.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Lost my best friend last night. Thank you all for the love you\u2019ve shown him over the years. Roscoe forever. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VRrFBdcsLc\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/VRrFBdcsLc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lewis Hamilton (@LewisHamilton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LewisHamilton\/status\/1972623977987313954?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September 29, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The British driver was by Roscoe\u2019s side in his final moments, saying goodbye to the dog who had become a familiar face in the F1 paddock and on Hamilton\u2019s social media over the years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe. He never stopped fighting, right until the very end.&#8221;, Hamilton said on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel so grateful and honoured to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and true friend. Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I ever made, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together. Although I lost Coco, I have never been faced with putting a dog to sleep before, though I know my mum and many close friends have. It is one of the most painful experiences and I feel a deep connection to everyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet. Although it was so hard, having him was one of the most beautiful parts of life, to love so deeply and to be loved in return.&#8221;, the British driver added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you all for the love and support you\u2019ve shown Roscoe over the years.
