{"id":495889,"date":"2025-10-10T03:36:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T07:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=495889"},"modified":"2025-10-10T03:37:46","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T07:37:46","slug":"lebron-james-to-miss-lakers-season-opener-with-sciatica","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/lebron-james-to-miss-lakers-season-opener-with-sciatica\/","title":{"rendered":"LeBron James to miss Lakers\u2019 season opener with sciatica"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LeBron James will miss opening night of his record 23rd NBA season due to sciatica, the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old superstar will be sidelined for three to four weeks as he recovers from the nerve issue, which affects his right side and causes pain running from the lower back through the leg.<\/p>\n<p>James has not yet taken part in a full practice since the Lakers opened training camp last week.<\/p>\n<p>Head coach JJ Redick told reporters earlier Thursday that the veteran forward was \u201con his own timeline.\u201d Soon after, the team confirmed that LeBron will be out at least until the end of October, likely missing the first five or six games of the season \u2014 and possibly more.<\/p>\n<p>The Lakers begin their campaign at home on October 21 against the Golden State Warriors, followed by a busy stretch of eight games in 13 days starting October 24.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Breaking: Lakers star LeBron James will be sidelined for at least 3 to 4 weeks due to sciatica on his right side.
