
{"id":495954,"date":"2025-10-14T04:05:37","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=495954"},"modified":"2025-10-14T04:05:37","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:05:37","slug":"djokovic-receives-support-in-atp-schedule-discussion","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/djokovic-receives-support-in-atp-schedule-discussion\/","title":{"rendered":"Djokovic receives support in ATP schedule discussion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ongoing debate about tennis\u2019 heavy schedule shows no signs of slowing down, with Casper Ruud once again voicing his frustration over what he described as a \u201creally, really long season.\u201d The Norwegian star also threw his support behind Novak Djokovic, who recently criticized top players for failing to unite and push for meaningful reform within the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic argued that while many players complain about the demanding ATP and WTA calendars, few are willing to actively take part in the process of change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a player and someone that has been playing on the highest level for more than 20 years, I can say that the players are not united enough,\u201d Djokovic said. \u201cPlayers make the comments and they complain, and then they go away. And then if something is wrong, after a certain amount of time they come back again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Serbian added that it is up to each player to take responsibility: \u201cYou have to invest the time, you have to invest energy yourself\u2026 to understand how the system works and what can be improved in terms of the players\u2019 interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ruud, who has also spoken out about the exhausting nature of the tennis calendar \u2014 particularly during the clay swing at Roland Garros \u2014 said Djokovic\u2019s criticism is justified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, Novak has a point,\u201d Ruud told Bolavip. \u201cHe has more experience than any other player.
