{"id":505167,"date":"2025-11-11T14:57:35","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T18:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=505167"},"modified":"2025-11-11T14:58:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T18:58:20","slug":"cristiano-ronaldo-reveals-2026-world-cup-will-be-his-last","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/cristiano-ronaldo-reveals-2026-world-cup-will-be-his-last\/","title":{"rendered":"Cristiano Ronaldo reveals 2026 World Cup will be his last"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The superstar of world football and the Portugal national men\u2019s team, Cristiano Ronaldo, has confirmed the World Cup in North America next year will be his last.<\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo, who is 40 years old, has netted 953 goals in his career so far, and he also added that he would retire from the sport in a year or two.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the USA, would be Cristiano\u2019s 6<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The Portuguese forward answered in an interview that the World Cup next year will definitely be his last: \u201cI will be 41 years old and that would be my maximum in the biggest tournament in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cristiano, who is playing in the Saudi Pro League as part of Al-Nassr, is the all-time leading men&#8217;s international goalscorer with 143, as he wants to reach the milestone of 1,000 career goals before he retires.<\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo triumphed at the international level with the Euro 2016, but he never won the World Cup, as that is 1 of the few major trophies that he hasn\u2019t won yet, and he will have only one more chance next year in North America.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 Cristiano Ronaldo: \u201cI will retire soon\u2026 I did and gave everything for football in the last 25 years\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s probably one or two years.
