The Reds’ head coach, Arne Slot, has revealed that Alexander Isak can be out for several months after a “reckless” challenge by Spurs defender Micky van de Ven.<\/p>\n
The Swedish striker suffered a fracture to his left leg after a sliding tackle from the Tottenham defender as Isak netted in his team\u2019s 2-1 victory against Spurs in London.<\/p>\n
Alexander underwent a procedure on what his club labeled as “an ankle problem that included a fibula fracture.<\/p>\n
\u201cIsak will be out for a long time, for several months,\u201d shared Liverpool’s manager. \u201cHe is very disappointed as we share the same frustration.\u201d<\/p>\n
Spurs defender didn\u2019t receive a card for his challenge against the Swedish striker. Slot revealed that, according to him, Micky\u2019s challenge was reckless:<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve talked a lot about the tackle of Xavi Simons, which for me was completely unintentional. I don\u2019t think that you would suffer any injury from what he did.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, the tackle of Micky is a completely different story. If you make that tackle ten times, I believe that in all of the times there is a high chance that a footballer suffer a serious problem.\u201d<\/p>\n
