Ryan replaces Scott Turner, who was dismissed 14 days ago after a coaching staff overhaul by Aaron Glenn.<\/p>\n<p>This is not common in the league: 3 generations of a coaching family with 1 organization.<\/p>\n<p>The new passing-game coordinator of New York is the son of Rex Ryan, the Jets\u2019 boss from 2009 to 2014. Rex was 46-50, plus a 4-2 record in the postseason. The franchise from the Big Apple hasn\u2019t appeared in the postseason since 2010, Ryan\u2019s 2<sup>nd<\/sup> campaign. The former Jets head coach now works as an analyst in the media.<\/p>\n<p>The Ryan family&#8217;s roots with the team began in 1968, when Rex&#8217;s father, Buddy Ryan, landed his 1<sup>st<\/sup> coaching job in the league as the defensive line coach.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets triumphed in the Super Bowl in Ryan\u2019s debut campaign, and he remained with the organization through 1975.
