The NY Jets will use 1 of the tags at their disposal on RB Breece Hall if they can’t reach an agreement with the player before the deadline, GM Darren Mougey revealed today.<\/p>\n
The NFL franchise from the Big Apple can either use the franchise tag or the transition tag on the running back.<\/p>\n
The organization tag, which will be worth almost 15 million dollars next year, would restrict Breece\u2019s movement in free agency and guarantee the Jets draft-pick compensation if it doesn’t match another team’s offer sheet or is traded.<\/p>\n
They can also use a transition tag, which will cost almost 12 million dollars and will allow the franchise 7 days to match any offer sheet Hall receives, but in this case, they will not receive a draft selection if New York doesn\u2019t match.<\/p>\n
Breece, a 2nd<\/sup>-round selection, earned almost 11 million dollars on his rookie deal.
