New York is sending this year\u2019s 6<sup>th<\/sup>-round selection to the Raiders in exchange for Geno and this year\u2019s 6<sup>th<\/sup>-round pick.<\/p>\n<p>Geno was in New York\u2019s facility in the morning and passed a physical.<\/p>\n<p>The new addition will be the team\u2019s starting QB, a position he held with the organization from 2013 to the 2015 preseason \u2013 until Smith was punched by a teammate in a locker room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m here where it all began,\u201d Geno shared. \u201cI\u2019m very happy to connect with my new teammates and managers and everyone who works for the Jets, as I hope to build a new relationship with the supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If New York had waited for Smith to be cut tomorrow, they could have inked him for 1.3 million dollars, the veteran minimum.
