Dobbs was scheduled to earn a base salary of over 3 million dollars this year and carried almost 5 million dollars in salary cap charges. The contract featured per-match bonuses.<\/p>\n<p>New England\u2019s decision comes after the organization inked number 3 QB Tommy DeVito to a 2-year contract with a base value of almost 4.5 million dollars after not tendering him as a restricted free agent. Tommy\u2019s contract features incentives that could increase its value to almost 7.5 million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>So, the Pats project to bump DeVito, on a cheaper deal, to the backup quarterback role. A QB3 is expected to be signed in the upcoming months.<\/p>\n<p>Dobbs\u2019 most impressive moment last season came in a 31-13 victory against the Titans on October 19<sup>th<\/sup> when Drake left early in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> quarter to be evaluated for a concussion.
