{"id":516216,"date":"2026-08-11T04:48:34","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T08:48:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=516216"},"modified":"2026-08-11T04:48:34","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T08:48:34","slug":"trump-defends-infantino-and-supports-him-to-remain-in-his-position","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/7sport.net\/en\/news\/trump-defends-infantino-and-supports-him-to-remain-in-his-position\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump defends Infantino and supports him to remain in his position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, claims it would be a &#8220;terrible mistake&#8221; if under-pressure FIFA president Gianni Infantino was ousted from his role.<\/p>\n<p>Donald\u2019s backing after UEFA, Concacaf, and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) shared an open letter accusing the president of FIFA of breaking trust &#8220;through deception&#8221; with his aborted (FFE) proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Fifa Forward Enterprise would have allowed a new company to be created to manage commercial and ticketing rights of all FIFA competitions, ith 21% sold off to a private investment firm.<\/p>\n<p>That is the 1<sup>st<\/sup> time that Trump made a public comment about the scandal surrounding Infantino since the FFE plans were introduced at the end of last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be a huge mistake if, for some reason, Gianni Infantino is replaced from his role of FIFA president,\u201d the U.S. president shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGianni is doing a fantastic job and was part of the most successful World Cup in the history that we hosted.
