And periods when the rookie showed why the Raiders trust the Heisman Trophy winner to be the future face of the team.<\/p>\n<p>His manager Klint Kubiak&#8217;s verdict is that the rookie looked like someone who has made significant strides in his development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw an experienced footballer,\u201d the Raiders head coach shared. \u201cHe just needs to work hard and continue to get better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Las Vegas quarterback completed 10 of 16 passes for 97 yards and a TD during 4 drives. Mendoza is the 1<sup>st<\/sup> overall selection to throw a TD pass in his preseason debut since Baker Mayfield 8 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis match showed me that I still have to improve a lot,\u201d admitted Fernando after the game. \u201cI will without a doubt watch a replay of the match.
