Sidney Crosby scored twice in his 66th meeting versus Alex Ovechkin
Evgeni Malkin netted a goal and added three assists, Sidney Crosby scored twice, and goaltender Tristan Jarry was unmistakable, saving all 19 shots towards him on Friday as Pittsburgh Penguins blanked the Washington Capitals 4-0.
It was Washington’s first game of the season and Capitals’ Spencer Carbery made his NHL debut.
Crosby and Alex Ovechkin of Washington met for the 66th time in their careers and the Penguins lead in games when both play, 39-23-4. Reilly Smith also scored, and Jake Guentzel added two assists for the Penguins, who picked up their first win.
It was Jarry’s 14th career shutout, his second against the Capitals.
