The Rossoneri are planning to move to their new ground by 2028
Italian Serie A champion AC Milan is accelerating the plans for new stadium. The Rossoneri are looking to leave San Siro as soon as possible, wanting to have their own ground in order to increase the revenues. For over three decades Milan and Inter share San Siro stadium, but pay huge amounts of lease to the municipality.
Yesterday Milan owner Gerry Cardinale met with city Mayor Giuseppe Sala and the outcome of the talks is positive. Definitive decision is expected to be communicated in two weeks but Milan have identified La Maura area, near the Hippodrome district, to build their new stadium.
The club management plans €600-700 million investment for a 70 000-seat stadium by 2028.
