F1 design legend Adrian Newey has revealed that he plans joining another Formula 1 team following his decision to leave Red Bull. In an interview with his manager Eddie Jordan, former F1 team boss, Newey shared his thoughts on his career prospects in a marketing video for a yacht company released on YouTube.
The 65-year-old, widely regarded as the greatest F1 designer in history, stated, “I am seriously considering changing teams, going somewhere else and doing another four or five years or whatever.” He acknowledged feeling a bit weary at the moment but expressed an openness to embarking on a new challenge in the future: “I feel a little bit tired at the moment, but at some point, I’ll probably go again.”
Newey’s decision to step down as Red Bull’s chief technical officer after 19 years was announced earlier this month. However, he has not disclosed where he might go next. It is known that Newey has engaged in conversations with Ferrari, which is widely regarded as the strong favorite to secure his services. Ferrari has declined to comment on these speculations.
